Charles William Fletcher starts business forging blanks for the cutlery trade, supplied to Sheffield’s silversmiths.
1891


1939 - 1945
CW Fletcher begins its working relationship with Rolls Royce, as the companies skilled workers were called on for the war effort.
Manufacture began on the Merlin engine, developed for the Spitfire and Lancaster aircraft.
Links were also made with other manufacturing companies during the post war boom.
CW Fletcher begins connection with the nuclear sector.
CW Fletcher was approached by Rolls Royce to produce a ‘special box’ which turned out to be a square tube designed to support nuclear fuel rods for Harwell, the first reactor in Britain. This began CW Fletcher’s connection with the nuclear sector.
1950's


1999
The company moved its premises to their current location in Sheffield, with close proximity to Junction 31 on the M1.
This gave the company the much needed opportunity to modernise the manufacturing facility, consolidate all parts of the company into one site and further the process of diversification of CW Fletcher’s order book.
CW Fletcher’s drive for continuous improvement and growth remains unbroken as the company invests in a new, purpose-built manufacturing facility onsite.
This, coupled with ongoing investment in the latest machinery and technology, as well as a forward-thinking network of employees, means the company continues to grow and evolve your expectations in manufacturing solutions.
